Bicibus
Ride the Bicibus.
A rolling parade of kids biking to school together on Friday mornings. No forms, no fee, no commitment. Bring a bike and find the group.

Where to stand
Friday mornings, before school.
The playground at Kirkwood Neighborhood Park, off Kirkwood Place. That is the meeting point. Show up with a bike and a helmet, look for the group, and roll in with everybody else. You do not need to tell anyone you are coming.
Running late? The route is posted in the WhatsApp group each week — you can join anywhere along the way.

How it works
Three steps, and one of them is pedaling.
1. Find the group
The route and meeting spot go out in the WhatsApp group each week. Riders join anywhere along the way.
2. Ride together
Adults ride front and back. Kids in the middle. We move at the speed of the slowest rider, which is the point.
3. Park and go
Bikes get locked at school, kids go to class buzzing, and you have had the best commute in Hyattsville.
Before your first ride
What you need.
- A bike that rolls and brakes. It does not need to be nice.
- A helmet — required for every rider, adults included.
- An adult with each kid the first time, so you both learn the route.
- Scooters and balance bikes are welcome. So are trailers and cargo bikes.
No bike? Say so in the group. Somebody usually has a spare, and the uniform and book swaps have turned up bikes before.
Join the Friday group.
Route, weather calls and the occasional last-minute cancellation all live in WhatsApp. It is a quiet group — a message or two a week.
